What Inspires Us
Chad Williams, the owner of Olympus fundraising has four kids who are all competitive athletes. Over the past 10-15 years he has participated in dozens of different kinds of fundraising, all the way from cookie dough products to discount cards, etc. The challenge is that the work load involved to raise a very little bit of money was not worth the effort in some cases.
Chad was introduced to what the concept of Alumni and Sponsorship Fundraising and decided that he would give this a try. Shortly thereafter his son was selected to wrestle for Team Colorado in the National Middle School Dual Tournament. The cost of this tournament was more than the family budget allowed so he decided to take action.
Chad developed a letter that let his friends, family and local businesses get a glimpse of what his son was doing. He stated that he needed their help and used this campaign to raise the money for Collin to go to Iowa for this unbelievable event. His thoughts were, “why let money, or the lack there of determine ones opportunities in life. By definitely committing himself he found doors began to open and they raised more than two times the money needed.
To his surprise there were still only about 50% of the letters returned with contributions. This is what inspired Chad to start Olympus Fundraising. His goal is to create not only memories but to teach organizations that whatever they can believe they can achieve. In only a few short months they are working with several organizations and raising the awareness that there is a way to fundraise where the bulk of the money can go right where it needs to… the participants dream.
